Bear fruit-
Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bearfruitwith seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.
[ The Branch From Jesse] A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bearfruit.
You have planted them, and they have taken root; they grow and bearfruit. You are always on their lips but far from their hearts.
Jeremiah 17
5 This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
6
That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
7
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
8
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
Matthew 7
True and False Prophets
15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bearfruit—fruitthat will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
Galatians 5:22-23gives us a starting place: the fruit of His Spiritis love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
