Luke 9:52-54

Example 1

9:49 “Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”

50 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”

Example 2

9:53 but the people (SAMARITANS) there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. 54 When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them[b]?” 55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them. 56 Then he and his disciples went to another village.

        C. AUTHORITY

10:17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submitto us in your name.”

18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you

authority

to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

        D. COUNTING BLESSINGS

23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessedare the eyes that see what you see.

24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

JOHN 1 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

B) GIVE WARNINGS ( not war )

1 Tim 3:16 – teach , rebuke, correcting and training in righteousness.

C) YOU HAVE AUTHORITY

10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
