WHAT IS AT STAKE. – timeline

    Self-accountable???

Goal in mind – life transformation THROUGH ETERNITY ..

So how do we prepare?

31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.”

58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

Notes:

John’s Gospel continues this practice, but with a noteworthy elaboration. In every instance

(John1:51,3:3,3:5,3:11,5:19,5:24,5:256:26,6:32,6:47,6:53,8:34,8:51,8:58,10:1,10:7,12:24,13:16,13:20,13:21,13:38,14:12,16:20,16;23,21:18) – and only in this gospel – Jesus is portrayed as repeating the word for added emphasis.

In this way, whenever Jesus says “amen lego humin” [ajmhvnlevgwuJmi’n], he shows awareness of his authority, his deity. This evidence of Jesus’ messianic self-consciousness is important
